My Top 5 Pregnancy Must-haves this Winter

Pregnancy and winter is probably not a good combo for me. Aside from being not able join the sledding and skiing adventures, expecting moms like me are also prone to the other ‘joys’ of pregnancy like chapped lips, itchy belly, dry skin, and many more! Well, thankfully after trying a whole bunch of different products, I finally found some that are quite effective in relieving my winter woes. Everyone is different, but I thought I would share some of the natural products I am currently using and find effective.

Belli Sheer Comfort Lip Balm

Before I got pregnant, I have been using Vaseline to soothe my dry lips every night. But right after learning we are expecting, I decided to switch to all-natural skincare products and even make-up.

I have tried many other natural lip balms but unfortunately none has helped with my chapped lips yet. So I was so thankful I found Belli! Their products are both OBGYN and dermatologist recommended. This balm is made of hypoallergenic ultra-purified lanolin oil that helps lock in moisture, and also relieves dry, chapped lips like mine.

After just few days of using, I noticed how it is slowly healing my sore and super chapped lips plus it seems to also prevent further drying. I apply this every night and before applying my favorite lip gloss. It is indeed a lipsaver!

Organic Virgin Coconut Oil


Yes! You read it right, it is the coconut oil you can buy from supermarkets. I’m pretty sure you have heard about the many wonders of coconut oil. It has many uses ranging from cooking to dietary supplement to skincare.

For expecting moms, it is a natural moisturizer for the body especially for that growing belly. I have been using it since the first trimester and I love it! Before bedtime, I scoop a good amount and ever so-gently apply and rub it to my belly. I am not very sure if it prevents stretch marks though as I am still seeing tiny ones starting to branch out on my right side. But I guess stretch marks are hereditary so I don’t think I can prevent it. But I believe moisturizing is the best way to at least minimize the effects so might as well try it right?

Mama Bee Belly Butter

I love Burt’s Bees products. I purchased this in the beginning of my second trimester after reading some good reviews about it. It is 99% natural so it reassures me that it safe for my baby. It has extra-rich consistency and has a tiny bit of smell though it says on the packaging that it is fragrance-free. It is infused with cocoa, shea, and jojoba that claims to keep our growing bellies soft and smooth.

I use belly butter some nights aside from the organic coconut oil. It is a little bit sticky but is easily absorbed by the skin. The only thing I don’t really like about it is that it is kinda cold when applied to my belly. I don’t like anything cold near my skin especially during the winter season. Haha. Because of this, I prefer using coconut oil most of the time because it makes my skin feel nice and warm.

Andalou Naturals Body Lotion

I got this body lotion in Mandarin and Vanilla scent and I love it so much! It is vegan, cruelty free, 100% non-GMO, paraben free, and sulfate free.. This rich body lotion is infused with rosehips, argan oils, shea and cocoa butters that aims to soften and smoothen dry skin.

I use it every after bath and my skin quickly absorbs it. I find the citrusy scent to be relaxing and invigorating. It makes my skin especially my legs soft and smooth. I also apply it on my belly sometimes.

Burt’s Bees Sensitive Daily Moisturizing Face Cream

This is my absolute favorite face cream from Burt’s Bees. I have been using this for almost two years now. I prefer this over the ones I tried in the past. It is very gentle and it moisturizes my skin without causing redness or irritation. I have a combination skin and this moisturizer is perfect for me. It is fragrance-free and also 99% natural so I feel reassured using it during my pregnancy. It is that one product that makes my face withstand the colder temperature without causing breakouts.

It feel really good to know that I am able to take care of these pesky winter + pregnancy dilemma without having to sacrifice peace of mind during this precious journey of being a mommy-to-be.
